The September 11, 2001 attack on our Homeland is the single deadliest terror attack in modern human history. It’s still staggering to think about the thousands who were killed or injured that day, and the thousands more who have passed away in the years since due to related causes.

A recent addition to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum located at Ground Zero in New York City tells the story of “9/11 Related Illness” and honors responders and survivors who have passed due to ill health effects related to the tragedy. The new section is called “The Glade.” Read more here >>

About 9/11 Commemorative Coins

This program has been one that is close to our hearts. When 9/11 hit, company owner Chip Forbes had just been in DC at the Pentagon on business days before. Taking part in the memorial ceremony that followed later that month, C. Forbes provided the “United In Memory” lapel pins. By request, the pin, along with a coin of the same design are available now from our online gift shop.

The Pentagon Memorial designs led to a connection with the curators of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York, and series of pins and coins were produced for inclusion in their museum stores on site and online. As noted above, this series continues today and has been quite successful. Thousands of visitors now own a commemorative piece of American history. To have and hold and display one of these coins brings a sense of connection. It’s a tangible memento of a day that is etched in the memories of those who lived it and were shaped by its impact and aftermath.
